The question is what does one put into the acid to make the part blue or gold. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance Ernie in Cape Town From: N11TE Date: Fri, 16 Jan 1998 11:14:25 EST Subject: Re: COZY: Anodising Re: your question as to how to anodize your parts in color. I have purchased all necessary materials to anodize my parts but have not yet done any. So all I can do is pass on my instructions. After you anodize your parts I was told that you must place the parts in distilled water and boil them in order to set the coating. If you want a color, this is the time you add it. There are specific colors made for this purpose but I was told that many commonly available color materials could be used, such as Rit dye. I intend to black anodize my parts so I have purchased some black Rit dye and some black permanent ink to try (test). Again, I haven't tried this yet. If you do before me I would appreciate it if you could pass on your experiences. Good luck.
