I was wondering if anyone sells plans or has drawings. My main concerns are attachment hard points, pylon construction, and pod shape. Does anyone have knowledge of the pods being used as aux. fuel tanks? Thanks, Steve Miles Cozy MkIV 272 Date: Wed, 01 May 1996 09:33:17 -0400 From: "Marc J. I believe that Featherlite is now selling baggage pods (don't remember where I heard this). > Does anyone have knowledge of the pods being used as aux. fuel tanks? Never heard of anyone doing this - exactly how long do you think you can sit in a plane? :-). The range with the stock tanks is ~1300 miles at economy cruise, or ~1000 miles at cruise. That's anywhere between 5 - 8 hours, which is more than enough for ME! At any rate, given the higher density of fuel over luggage, you'd probably have to modify the mount points (and the pods). -- Marc J. My hopes are to perhaps fly nonstop Miami to Puerto Rico, and then some day maybe Europe. Using a relief tube of some sort. :^) >At any rate, given the higher density of fuel over luggage, you'd >probably have to modify the mount points (and the pods). My plan was to limit fuel to aprox. 6-7 gallons per side, increasing range by aprox. 2 hours, or 300km. Of course this depends on the SFC of the franklin. :^) Thanks to everyone for their input.
