It's only 61 pages long, but seems very complete and well organized. All of the forms are in it and partly filled out as an example. In chapter 6, it says to start 2-6 months in advance for registering for a number. The FAA will charge $10.00 per year to hold your special request number until it is painted on the plane. "You deal with the FAA Aircraft Registry in Oklahoma City for your N-Number. There's no need to contact your local FAA office if you use the sample letter on the next page." You can also use FAA AC Form 8050-88, which is also printed on the next page. Make sure that it is notarized. "In response to your letter, the FAA will chose a number for you. If you want to chose your own, say so in the letter, and enclose a $10.00 check made out to the FAA. List three or more alternative numbers in order of priority." Address: FAA Aircraft Registry, Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 25504, Oklahoma City, OK 73125. You will receive a blank Aircraft Registration Application, Form 8050-1. Fill out and return the white and green copy with $5.00 for a random number, if you hadn't already sent $10.00. The pink copy is your temporary registration. Do this when there is less than 90 days before completion of the plane. It's a good book. E-mail me if you would like for me to copy some pages and, (Yuck), mail it to you. Kevin Funk
