My X-plane model of it is telling me that at full power cruise (185 knots) I am flying at -1° AOA with a 1650 lb gross weight. It seems possible, I am just a little surprised. Can anyone shed some light on this? I would be interested in corresponding with anyone serious about AOA as a fligh instrument. The same model is also giving me a slight turn to the left with neutral controls in climb out and at cruise. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon in flying Cozies? ( hey what is the plural of Cozy?). I corrected the tendency in the model by adding 1° of cant to the engine. It seems Nat doesn't think much of ATP considering where he ranked it relative to all of the other engines. What was the impression of other folks who saw them at Sun-N-Fun? I personally was hoping they would succeed so I could put one in. Did they show their pusher version? Todd Parker Date: Tue, 30 Apr 2002 22:52:12 -0400 From: "Marc J. This shouldn't be surprising - at full power cruise, the AOA will be very low to provide the requisite lift. Since the AOA is an arbitrary reference to the line between the L.E. and the T.E., and both wings (canard and main) have camber, it doesn't surprise me one bit that the AOA of one or the other is negative at full power cruise. Can't help you with the other stuff.... -- Marc J. Zeitlin mailto:marc_zeitlin@alum.mit.edu http://users.rcn.com/marc.zeitlin/
