From: "Rick Maddy" Subject: COZY: Chapter 8 transition piece trick Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 17:50:09 -0600 I wanted to pass on a little trick. I was making the transition piece near the end of chapter 8. I had this real nice piece of foam cut to shape. I took out the box tape knowing that it would be difficult to cover the foam with the tape. I quickly confirmed this wasn't going to work well. I know, I'll try using electrical tape. Electrical tape loves contours. It stretches great. But - what will the glass and epoxy think? What the heck, I'll give it a try. (The suspense must be killing you by now :) Today I gouged out the foam with a chisel and in about 5 seconds I pulled all the tape off the glass. Perfect. Simple too. >From now on I will use electrical tape where box tape is called for on anything but flat surfaces. Enjoy - time for a cook out and fireworks.
